Ambassador Program

Many Project Vote Smart members have requested a way to bring the information that Project Vote Smart provides into their communities. Answering this call, we have initiated the Project Vote Smart Ambassador Program. The Ambassador Program is a citizen outreach network that allows our members to bring the resources that Project Vote Smart provides directly to their neighborhoods.

The mission of the Project Vote Smart Ambassador Program is to enable our members to reach out to their communities, via presentations, and bring them the free factual information that the Project provides. Ambassadors help promote an informed voting community by spreading the word about the Project's free services and programs. Because Project Vote Smart has no advertising budget we depend upon the word of mouth promotion. Become an Ambassador, and help your neighbors get the facts, not the spin!

What is an Ambassador for Project Vote Smart?

An Ambassador is a member of Project Vote Smart who provides the Project's publications and voter information services to members of their community and makes presentations within their communities.

Information for Organizations Requesting a Presentation:

If your organization is interested in having a presentation about Project Vote Smart please call us at 406-859-8683. Project Vote Smart will coordinate with an Ambassador in your organization's area. If there is not an Ambassador in your area, you may request a packet with all of the necessary information to give a presentation yourself. The packet will include handouts for your audience and the Project Vote Smart video, which will need to be returned once your presentation is completed.

Becoming an Ambassador:

If you would like to become an Ambassador for Project Vote Smart please call the Ambassador Coordinator at 406-859-8683 to discuss the program in greater detail.

Making a presentation:

  1. A presentation for Project Vote Smart is as simple as showing our video and distributing information. Ambassadors can contact organizations in their area to make presentations and may be contacted if organizations in their area request a PVS presentation.
  2. Project Vote Smart will provide Ambassadors with suggestions on giving presentations. You don't need to be a professional speaker to share Project Vote Smart with your community.
  3. Show the Project Vote Smart video. (VHS copy will be sent to Ambassadors for presentations.)
    • This VHS video was designed for Ambassadors to use. It presents the problem: Emotional and issueless political advertisements. It also presents the solution: Project Vote Smart. Some of our videos show a series of past political commercials and all videos show a short documentary on Project Vote Smart and the free services that we provide.
    • In addition to showing this video at presentations, you should also feel free to share it with your friends - pass it around and let them view it in their homes.
  4. Distribute Voter's Self Defense Manuals and PVS brochures, which will direct members of your community on how to become informed voters.
