Medical Marijuana Use Amendment

Project Vote Smart's Synopsis: Vote to adopt an amendment that bans the Department of Justice from arresting, prosecuting, or suing individuals involved with the distribution or use of medical marijuana in states that have laws authorizing such use.
Official Title of Legislation: H Amdt 272 to HR 2682: An amendment to prohibit any funds made available in the Act to the Department of Justice from being used to prevent the States of Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Vermont, or Washington from implementing State laws authorizing the use of medical marijuana in those States.
