Project Vote Smart's Synopsis: Vote to adopt an amendment that raises the federal hourly minimum wage from $5.15 to $7.25 over a two-year period that will begin 60 days after the enactment of the bill.

Official Title of Legislation: S Amdt 4322 to S 2766: To amend the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 to provide for an increase in the Federal minimum wage.
Highlights: -Raises the minimum wage to $5.85 after 60 days of enactment.
-Increases minimum wage to $6.55 beginning 12 months after the 60th day.
-Increases minimum wage to $7.25 beginning 24 months after the 60th day.
