Vote to pass a bill that makes English the official language of the United States.
Official Title of Legislation:
HR 123: To amend title 4, United States Code, to declare English as the official language of the Government of the United States.
Highlights:
-Requires all official business of the United States Government to be conducted in English, including naturalization ceremonies and government documents.
-Repeals the bilingual voting requirements of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
-Makes certain exemptions from English language requirements, including issues of national security, international relations, trade, and public health and safety.
