Project Vote Smart's Synopsis: Vote to adopt a joint resolution to authorize the President to use the United States Armed Forces against anyone involved with the attacks of September 11th, 2001 and any nation that harbors these individuals.
Official Title of Legislation: HJ Res 64: To authorize the use of United States Armed Forces against those responsible for the recent attacks launched against the United States.
Highlights: -Equips the president with the authority to use all necessary and appropriate force against nations, organizations, or individuals who planned, conducted, aided, or authorized the attacks of September 11, 2001, or harbored such organizations or persons
