Promotional Poker Tournaments Bill

Project Vote Smart's Synopsis: Vote to pass a bill that allows bars and restaurants, excluding Orleans Parish, to conduct promotional poker tournaments once a week as long as participants are 21 or older, are in an area only for adults, and the business owner and employees do not conduct or participate in the tournaments, provide poker-playing materials or have an entry fee.
Official Title of Legislation: An Act to enact R.S. 27:403, relative to miscellaneous gaming provisions; to authorize certain licensed premises to make available tables and certain areas of the licensed premises for the purpose of the conducting of promotional poker tournaments; to provide for limitations; to provide for applicability; to provide for definitions; to provide with respect to advertising promotional poker tournaments; to provide an exception for Orleans parish; and to provide for related matters.
