Vote to pass a joint resolution that submits a constitutional amendment to the voters that increases the length of Senate terms from 2 years to 4 years and increases the term-limits for legislators of from 8 consecutive years to 12 consecutive years.

NOTE: AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION REQUIRES MAJORITY APPROVAL IN EACH CHAMBER FOR PASSAGE. AN AMENDMENT MAY ALSO BE PROPOSED BY INITIATIVE PETITION. IT MUST THEN BE APPROVED BY A MAJORITY OF CITIZENS VOTING IN THE NEXT ELECTION TO BECOME ENACTED.

SJR 3: Proposing and submitting to the electors at the next general election an amendment to Article III, section 6 of the Constitution of the State of South Dakota, relating to four-year senatorial terms and term limits.
