Prohibit Partial-Birth/Late Term Abortion Bill
Project Vote Smart's Synopsis:
Vote to pass a bill that would prohibit any individual from knowingly performing the procedure known as intact dilation and extraction, in which a fetus/unborn child is partially delivered before it is aborted. The only exception is if the life of the woman is endangered by a physical disorder, illness, or injury.
Official Title of Legislation:
HR 760: To prohibit the procedure commonly known as partial-birth abortion.
Highlights:
- Allows for criminal prosecution of the individual that performs the act
- Prohibits prosecution of the woman on whom the abortion was performed
