Anonymity of Ethics Board Complaints

Project Vote Smart's Synopsis: Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that mandates that, within ten days after the Board of Ethics conducts a vote regarding an ethics complaint or after the board receives a signed sworn complaint, a certified copy of the vote, a detailed explanation of the complaint, and a copy of any complaint received by the board including the name of the complainant and any other person providing information that the board has considered shall be sent by certified mail to the accused and the complainant.
Official Title of Legislation: HB 906: AN ACT To amend and reenact R.S. 42:1141(B)(1)(a) and (C)(4)(e), relative to the enforcement procedures of the Board of Ethics; to require the board to provide certain information to the accused and the complainant; to provide relative to deadlines for the provision of such information; to provide for the standard of evidence for public hearings; and to provide for related matters.
