Water Resources Development Act of 2007

Project Vote Smart's Synopsis: Vote to pass a bill that sets funding authorization levels for the Secretary of the Army at $23.87 billion for water resource construction and improvement projects.
NOTE: A TWO-THIRDS MAJORITY OF THOSE PRESENT AND VOTING IS REQUIRED TO OVERRIDE A PRESIDENTIAL VETO.
Official Title of Legislation: HR 1495: To provide for the conservation and development of water and related resources, to authorize the Secretary of the Army to construct various projects for improvements to rivers and harbors of the United States, and for other purposes.
Highlights: -Sets authorizations at $2.20 billion for Florida water resource projects, including $1.12 billion for the Indian River Lagoon and $682.07 million for Everglades restoration.
-Sets authorizations at $3.49 billion in appropriations for Louisiana coastal restoration projects.
-Sets authorizations at $4.05 billion for Upper Mississippi River projects, including navigation improvements and ecosystem restoration.
