Ticket Resale Price Cap Removal

Project Vote Smart's Synopsis: Vote to pass a bill that allows ticket resellers to charge more than the maximum premium price as established by previous law, as well as requiring them to purchase licenses from the state to operate.
Official Title of Legislation: AN ACT to amend the arts and cultural affairs law, in relation to the resale of tickets to places of entertainment; to amend chapter 704 of the laws of 1991, amending the arts and cultural affairs law and chapter 912 of the laws of 1920 relating to the regulation of boxing and wrestling relating to tickets to places of entertainment, in relation to extending the effectiveness thereof; and repealing certain provisions of the arts and cultural affairs law relating thereto.
Official Synopsis: Eliminates the prohibition on selling tickets to places of entertainment at more than the maximum premium price; extends from June 1, 2007 to June 1, 2009, the expiration of the provisions of the arts and cultural affairs law relating to tickets to places of entertainment.
